EYH 2019

Expanding Your Horizons is a one-day conference for girls in middle school to learn about careers in STEM. This is the second year that I've volunteered at this conference, and once again it was a ton of fun! The girls had the opportunity to learn about topics ranging from anthropology to zoology, getting to do hands-on workshops for each one. They built bridges, pet an armadillo, listened to a mouse's heartbeat, studied flame colors, and did some chemical forensics just to name a few. I will certainly be returning as a volunteer next year, and perhaps in the future I could put together a robotics workshop...
